David Bryson announced as Paediatric Trauma Lecturer 2024

Mr David J Bryson is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in paediatric orthopaedics and general adult trauma. His specialist areas include paediatric neuromuscular pathology and paediatric trauma. Read an interview with him here.

Mr Bryson was born in the UK but grew up in the United States and completed his undergraduate training in Sports Medicine at Denison University in Ohio. He returned to the UK to undertake his medical training in Leicester and then completed higher specialist training on the prestigious East Midlands North training programme in Nottingham. During this time Mr Bryson published over 20 papers in peer-review journals and was the recipient of numerous awards including the 2018 Trainee of the Year.

Mr Bryson completed his fellowship training at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool and supplemented this with visiting fellowships to the Ponseti Institute at The University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital and Gillette Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis.

He was appointed Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic and Adult Trauma Surgeon at The Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham in September 2019. His workload includes a regular mix of paediatric orthopaedics and adult trauma. He is a member of the East Midlands North Surgical Training Committee and is the educational lead for East Midlands North training programme. He was the 2020 East Midlands North Trainer of the Year.
